Pellichoopulu
Visual Narrative
Pellichoopulu was created for an 11-hour assignment with the brief requiring the story to revolve around "Making Tea." Priya, a clumsy Indian woman, is preparing for a matchmaking interview set up by her parents, heavily inspired by Telugu movies. Illustrations were made over photographs to create a picture series, with the art style adapted to the time limit.

Extras
I wanted to add a touch of my native language, Telugu, to the dialogues to enhance the essence of a Telugu TV show, rather than translating them into English. The process included scripting a rough narrative, creating a storyboard, taking photos, making rough drafts, and then finalizing the illustrated scenes, all compiled into one cohesive piece. This is one of my favorite illustrated projects.
I aimed to make Priya a memorable and relatable character. Inspired by a generation of kids who enjoyed the privilege of their parents handling things for them, Priya is an amalgamation of clumsiness and confusion. Her dramatic monologues add a comical and cinematic touch to her character.
This was my first time delving into a mixed media project. The story was well received by a lot of my peers and professors.
